After initially gaining an honours degree in Philosophy/Ethics I then went on to train as an 'Integrative Counsellor'. Since then, I have gained substantial training in Existential Psychotherapy (MSc.) fully accredited training in Gestalt Psychotherapy (Post-Grad Diploma), fully accredited training in EMDR Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural therapy*, full Clinical Supervision training, as well as having a working knowledge of several other theories and their application. This enables us to find a way that suits you personally. (*It is important you are aware that as my professional development matures, I particularly favour Gestalt/Existential ways of working above EMDR or Behavioural therapy and I find that I use these less and less. So if you are looking for pure EMDR or CBT then I am not the therapist for you.)

I offer both long-term and short-term, one-to-one personal, relational therapy to people who are experiencing difficulties, confusion or a dilemma in their lives. These can range from anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, sexuality and gender issues, bullying, death/loss, sexual, psychological and emotional abuse, abortion, miscarriage, death of a child, low self-esteem and disability. I have extensive training, knowledge and experience with childhood sexual abuse and rape. I will respect whatever pronouns you use and will endeavour to use gender neutral language wherever possible. I work very hard to offer inclusive, gender diversity affirmative therapy.

You may be encountering a crisis that you feel unable to cope with at the moment, perhaps a divorce, death or a life event that has left you with feelings of confusion or anxiety. You may have noticed patterns within your relationships in life and want to change them. You may indeed be experiencing difficult feelings (perhaps even traumatic) regarding the Covid-19 pandemic and want to work through some of this in a safe outdoor or online space.

You may be facing a dilemma and would like to work this through with someone impartial. There are no limitations on what someone may come to therapy for, and I do not measure anyone's reasons above others. If it is important to you, simply put, it will be important to me!

I offer a free initial meeting which will last up to half an hour. Some people think that anything 'free' implies some kind of 'sales technique'. For me this is not a free therapy session, but a time where we look at what you would like to achieve from therapy, whether we both feel we are a 'good match' and practical matters such as both our availability. There is no obligation to book further sessions. I will give you (or email you) some literature to read and ask you to reflect on whether you would like to return.

My working days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
